Common Defects and Solutions in Sheet Metal Welding

Common Defects and Solutions in Sheet Metal Welding

Burn-through: Excessive welding current or excessively wide gap in thin plates → Reduce current, add backing plates, reduce assembly gaps.

Deformation: Excessive welding heat or improper welding sequence → Use spot welding for fixation, segmented reverse welding, and post-weld tempering.

Spatter: Improper CO₂ welding parameters or poor welding wire quality → Adjust voltage and current matching, use anti-spatter agent, replace with high-quality welding wire.
